Dancing Princess Royal, from the Ducklington tradition, for the crowning of the May Queen at Standon's May Day festivities
Standon Morris is a mixed side performing traditional Cotswold dances in and around East Hertfordshire. Our recent repertoire includes dances from the villages of Headington, Brackley, Ducklington, Oddington and Wheatley.
We're always pleased to see potential new recruits, whether to dance, play an instrument or even do a bit of both. Men, women, girls and boys (minimum age 10 years) can give it a try at our beginners' workshops in September or at one of our practice nights in the winter.

We meet just about every Thursday between October and the end of April in Standon Village Hall, Standon, Hertfordshire from 8.00 - 10pm.

In Coronation Year 1953, Cambridge Morris Men danced in Standon en route to perform in a Pageant at Hunsdon House. They were invited back for the Standon May Day Festivities the following year which inspired some of the men in the Standon Folk Dance Club to form a Morris Side which gave its first performance on July 24th 1954.

Standon Morris Men performed regularly both at home and abroad for 59 years, and in 2013 the decision was made to become a mixed side .... so Standon Morris was born.
